The Fruitful Garden
Our hearts could be compared to a garden with a variety of plants and other forms of nature. When the sower is sowing in his garden, he is the only one that knows what seeds he has placed in the soil. Unless he tells you or until the seeds start to blossom and produce fruits, no one else can tell what was initially planted. In life, you can only know what is hidden in an individual’s heart once they start acting. A sower can tell if the soil is good or bad by its fruits. This can also apply to you and I, an individual can tell if a person has good intentions towards them only by their actions and not words. That is why the Bible says “Dear children, let’s not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions”. 1 John 3:18
I am personally not an expert in gardening, but with the little knowledge that I possess I know that it is recommended to clean up the weed, cut the thorns and remove the stones if there is any in your garden for better results and healthy growth. This way it will leave space for the plants to grow and produce without feeling as if they were being confined and deprived of oxygen to blossom and reach their full potential.
Sometimes if you observe well, some seeds have the potential to grow but due to the lack of care and attention they die. Some gardeners take care of their seeds and provide all the care and attention needed but, once those seeds become plants, the owner starts to show less interest forgetting that no matter how big those plants get, they will always need to be trimmed and taken care of. If not, they will eventually get consumed by the weed, stones and thorns that surround them. Matthew 13:3-9
As human beings, most of the time we face different life challenges that we did not personally choose to confront. For instance, when we were being conceived, we did not get the option to choose our parents just as much as for the seeds mentioned in the quote above. They did not choose the ground in which they fall, it was a random selection. It is not all of us that got the privilege to have parents that know and follow God or parents who are loving and caring. Some of us got parents who just planted their seed (s) and left it to grow on its own without care or attention. Consequently, at a certain stage of the process, these children will get choked with life challenges and responsibilities that are not meant for them and die. It is only a small percentage that makes it to the finish line.
However, today I come to let you know that God is the solution to all equations, and answer to all your questions. God has a plan for your life. You are not in charge of your life and you do not have control over the outcome of all situations. Jesus is a loving and caring God that promised to always be there, the One that sees and understands everything, the Lord that does not change nor forget. The One who knows how much we can bear in the time of trouble He promised he would always be there. Even when our parents, friends and loved ones abandoned him.
If you have been hurt in the past, it is in your best interest to forgive and remove all the thorns, stone and weed in your life for a better and healthy growth. Do not let the devil suffocate your potential with evil thoughts. A good soil is having a good heart ready to receive and open to hear and follow God’s instructions and produce good fruits that will be beneficial to all.
Watch out to not be like the fig tree that Jesus cursed because it was not fruitful. “The next day as they were leaving Bethany, Jesus was hungry. Seeing in the distance a fig tree in leaf, he went to find out if it had any fruit. When he reached it, he found nothing but leaves, because it was not the season for figs. Then he said to the tree, “May no one ever eat fruit from you again”.
Mark 11:12-14.
Our Creator recommends us to cut off everything that is impairing us from moving forward and leading a Holy life. Therefore, here are few steps retrieved from the Bible to take towards change and improvement.
1. Remove all thorns, weed, and stones so when the sower which is Jesus comes finds your soil which is your heart ready for the seed which is the word of God to grow in good conditions. Matthew 5:30
2. Ask the Holy Spirit our Paraclete to help you prepare to receive the word of God and welcome Him in your life. Luke 11:13
3. Humble yourself, ask for wisdom whenever you wrong someone, when you were treated unfairly by people or when you feel as if you have disobeyed God. Humility produces more fruits than arrogance ever will. James 1:15
4. Be careful so that when the Sower comes the devil does not devour your seed before it gets planted in the soil. Adam and Eve are a great example of people who got deceived by the devil and whom their seed got stolen. Matthew 26:41
5. Make sure to take care of your soil and plants on a continuum without negligence. Your soil should be soft, moist, full of minerals and vitamins to favour healthy growth. The minerals and vitamins could be referred to as the Word of God and songs of Praise and Worship. Proverbs 4:23
Let's pray!
Lord Jesus-Christ Son of God have mercy on me. Forgive me and help me to forgive those who trespassed against me. Lead me not into temptation, but deliver me from evil. Dear Holy Spirit of God, create in me a soft and open heart, that is ready to receive your Word and your commands. Make me fruitful, we pray. Amen!
Humbly,
@MademoizelleZaye
